Honestly, it’s about time a major country like France stood up for Palestinian rights and pushed the world to rethink the status quo. Recognizing Palestine isn’t just symbolism—it’s an important step toward real negotiations and a just peace. The way the US and Israel immediately condemned it just shows how stuck they are in old policies that haven’t brought us any closer to ending the conflict or alleviating suffering in Gaza. France is showing some backbone here, and hopefully other European countries will get on board and stop hiding behind empty statements. If we actually care about human rights and democracy, supporting Palestinian statehood should be a no-brainer.

This is a reckless and naive move by Macron that totally ignores the security concerns of Israel, our strongest ally in the region.
